Specified Commercial Transactions Act disclosure
The Specified Commercial Transactions Act (特定商取引法) disclosure is available in Japanese at /tokushoho.html. The statute governs the Japanese-language version, so jpcite does not publish an authoritative English translation. The following is a non-authoritative plain-English summary for due diligence; the Japanese page prevails on any discrepancy. For questions, email [email protected].

Price & payment
- Price: as stated on the pricing page; fully metered. Free: ¥0 (3 requests / day per IP, no registration, resets JST next-day 00:00). Paid: ¥3.30 tax inclusive per billable unit (JPY 3 per billable unit tax exclusive + 10% consumption tax). Normal search / detail retrieval is 1 request = 1 billable unit; batch / export / fanout may be multiple billable units per the formula shown on each endpoint. Stripe shows the tax-exclusive price and consumption-tax amount separately on the invoice.
- No minimum amount or contract amount. A month with zero usage is billed ¥0.
- Other charges: internet connection and communication fees are borne by the user.
- Payment method: credit-card payment via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Diners Club, Discover — subject to Stripe's coverage).
- Payment timing: monthly arrears billing. The calculation period is from the 1st at 00:00 to the last day at 23:59 (JST); from the 1st of the following month (JST), the registered card is charged automatically per Stripe's billing cycle.
Service timing & cancellation
- Service start: upon completion of payment-method registration in Stripe, an API key is issued immediately and service begins.
- Application validity: none in particular. A user can end paid use at any time by canceling the subscription from the Stripe Customer Portal. After cancellation, API access remains valid through the end of the current month, and only the current month's usage is billed on a metered basis. API key deletion or rotation is not billing cancellation: deleting, rotating, or disabling a key only suspends that key's use. Billing stops from the following month.
- Returns / cancellation (return policy): this service is digital content (an information-provision API); for ordinary current-month usage after service begins, current-month cancellation or refund is not accepted. Cancellation itself is available anytime from the Stripe Customer Portal.
- Cooling-off: this service is mail-order under Specified Commercial Transactions Act Article 2(2). Statutory cooling-off does not apply to this online service under Article 15-3. Refunds for material defects are handled separately under the returns and contract-nonconformity provisions.
Operating environment
- REST API: any HTTPS client (curl, language HTTP libraries).
- MCP: Claude Desktop / Cursor / Cline and other MCP-capable clients. ChatGPT Custom GPT connects via OpenAPI Actions.
Defective service & contract nonconformity
If the service has a material nonconformity (monthly API availability below 95%, duplicate payment processing, application of a rate different from the contract, etc.), the user should contact [email protected] within a reasonable period (in principle within 30 days) of discovering it. We will then, despite the return-policy provision above, refund all or part of the fees charged due to the defect (a Stripe credit-card refund or a reduction from the following month's invoice), or implement a substitute measure (temporary expansion of the free allowance, public postmortem of the affected scope, etc.). For contract nonconformity, we will correct it without charge within a reasonable period or respond by the method set out above; please contact us within a reasonable period of discovering the nonconformity.
