Data source & license disclosure
jpcite discloses, in a single table, the source agency / license / commercial-redistribution allowance / attribution requirement / update frequency for the 16 datasets it holds. A corporate buyer or legal-department reviewer can complete a license review on this one page. The per-record source-license metadata column is classified for 96,467 / 97,272 records (805 are individually tracked in the license-review queue).
Use this for diligence
- Confirm whether each dataset is CC BY 4.0, PDL v1.0, Government Standard Terms of Use, public domain, or individually licensed.
- Match redistribution and attribution requirements before reusing jpcite data in downstream products.
Legend
- Commercial redistribution = whether API distribution through this service is explicitly permitted under the source's license.
- Attribution requirement = the attribution string the customer should pass through equivalently when reusing the response.
- Yes = license confirmed and API distribution is OK. Re-confirm = subject to
license_review_queue.csv; re-evaluated at periodic and pre-publish review, and individually confirmed before commercial redistribution.

Attribution requirements when a customer reuses the response
jpcite includes license, source_url, and fetched_at in the API response. It uses the per-record source-license metadata column (96,467 / 97,272 classified) and the license-review queue (1,425 rows) as primary sources, and updates as source agencies revise their terms.
