Coverage calculator
The jpcite API is metered at ¥3 per billable unit (tax exclusive; ¥3.30 tax inclusive). Enter your client count and monthly checks, and the live Japanese calculator shows — in the browser — your monthly API cost plus what a single request actually joins: multiple DBs, the number of sources, and freshness in days. Input values never leave the browser (no transmission, no LLM call).
What it estimates
- Model expected request volume from client count, monthly checks, and paid API usage.
- The calculator focuses on jpcite billable units; LLM token cost varies by workload and is not estimated here.
How a request maps to cost
- API requests = clients × monthly checks per client (subsidy / grant / tax-rule / law-amendment checks).
- API cost (tax incl.) = requests × ¥3.30 (¥3.00 tax exclusive + 10% consumption tax).
- DBs joined per request = programs + case studies + loans + laws + tax rules + enforcement + invoice registrants + bids (8 DBs).
- Sources returned per request (median) — primary-source URLs are prioritized on major published rows.
- Data freshness (last source fetch) — median for tier S/A; recency is confirmed per row by its fetch time.

Assumptions
| Item | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| API unit price (tax excl.) | ¥3.00 / billable unit | pricing · Stripe metered |
| Consumption tax rate | 10% | NTA Consumption Tax Act §29 standard rate |
| Anonymous free allowance (not subtracted from the paid estimate) | 3 requests / day / IP | Anonymous use only (resets JST next-day 00:00). Authenticated API-key use is a separate surface, so it is not subtracted from the paid monthly estimate — backend /v1/cost/preview behaves the same. |
| Billing unit | 1 unit per normal call | For batch / export / multi-target workflows, confirm the per-endpoint billing formula before running. |
| Integrated databases | 8 DBs | programs / case studies / loans / laws / tax rules / enforcement / invoice registrants / bids (Data sources) |
| Attribution policy | Primary source preferred | On major published rows, agency / public-corporation sources are preferred; aggregator sources are not used as citation sources (sources) |
| Freshness operating guide | Nightly liveness | Data freshness — per-source freshness distribution is published; check each row's source_fetched_at and known gaps |
This estimate is a reference figure for informational purposes. The "DBs joined / sources / freshness days per request" are catalog values; the number of records returned for an individual query varies by target program, region, and keyword. Token reduction and overall AI-cost changes vary greatly by model, prompt, cache, and query distribution, so they cannot be extrapolated beyond our benchmark range (see the context-savings explanation). To comply with Certified Public Tax Accountant Act §52 / Attorney Act §72, jpcite does not provide individual tax or legal advice and is limited to searching and organizing primary sources. Always consult a qualified professional for tax-accountant / accountant work.
